Hi folks,

When I started the site way back when, it had two goals… one was to have sales for silly things offered via the site or referal programs offset the cost of the site and secondly to have have other contributers regularly writing so I wasn’t doing it all by myself. 

The merchandising program through Cafe Press has been shut down because it was costing more to have the service from Cafe Press and was creating additional costs rather that reducing existing ones.  Not being in a position to float that financially, I’ve cut ties with Cafe Press and no longer have items for sale via my site or theirs.

Go-Daddy is the company that I’m using for hosting of the site and the annual renewal for the site hosting, domain, etc is all coming up towards the end of the year as well.  The site simply doesn’t draw enough traffic to be self sustainable and I don’t have the resources to continue operating the site at a loss either.  I’ll update on this again as I get closer to the renewal dates, but at this time I do not have plans to continue operations of the site beyond the next 60 days.

In the meantime, we’ll probably have a few more riddles to close it out with and perhaps a final PH.org Cast.

This is just a quick but heart felt note to each of you readers out there who continue to read this blog and comment regularly. A year a half ago I set out to create a little outlet that writers could post humorous material to help others get through the tedious work day. So far I’ve only had one co-author in the early goings, but for the most part I’ve done the writing here. Somewhere along the way, riddles took a central role in this content. I’m very proud of the little community I’ve fostered here and I want to thank each of you for taking time out of your days to visit the site.

There’s a healthy mix of family and friends… old and new that come and go.

Over the past six months I’ve been struggling with a multitude of personal issues that I won’t bore you with. It’s been an on going fight to keep my sanity and it’s often been helped by reading your comments on the site.

I really appreciate the on going support and want to thank each of you for being a loyal reader. It means a lot to me.

Thank you all for coming to the site and playing along. I encourage the folks thaat read posts but don’t comment to not be shy. If you like what you see, tell your friends to stop by too. I’ll continue to write as long as you continue to read.

So… there’s a current political debate running around the nation that I feel motivated to write about. It’s not likely going to be a terribly funny piece, more likely angry and might offend some people. I’m wondering whether I should write it for this blog or post it somewhere else.

I figured I’d ask you all. What do you think? Would you like to hear a political rant here or would you prefer for me to keep the tone light and stay out of it (here anyway).

I want to extend a happy thank you to folks who have continued to visit the site and participate in the Riddles, comments, etc.  After being online in this venue for 8 months, I’m averaging just over 60 people visiting the site on days I post new content (and about half that on days I don’t).

In the coming weeks I plan to be adding a few new features.  To offset some costs, I’m going to be offering some links to Amazon for DVDs, Blu-Ray disks when I reference such a thing in a post.  If you buy the movie referenced, I get a percentage.  No banner ads or that sorta thing.  The audio editions are in production and once I’ve got the format figured out, those will start appearing on the site and via iTunes.  The shirts are still a work in progress.  I had a design made and then decided I didn’t like it.  People who have won shirts for riddles should be seeing them in about 3-4 weeks.

As always, any word of mouth, direct linking, facebook reposting, etc support is always welcome and appreciated.  If the Amazon thing works out, I’ll go back to advertising the site on Google and Facebook, but for now I can’t justify the cost.  So it’s up to you, fearless readers, to help bring in more people.

As long as people keep visiting/reading, I’ll keep writing.
